TWO men have appeared at court in connection with a drive-by shooting in Bolton.

Mohammed Taymure Khan, aged 23, of Hilden Street, Bolton, and Tanveer Akbar aged 26, of Castle Street, Bolton, have been charged with two counts of Section 18 wounding.

The men were arrested yesterday morning and later appeared at Bolton Magistrates' Court.

Three other men arrested on Saturday in connection with the incident have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Two men were blasted in the chest and legs with a shotgun as they were standing in Mayor Street near to Queen's Park, Bolton, at 10.15pm last Wednesday. They were both taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital and have since been discharged.

Khan and Akbar were remanded in custody and will reappear at Bolton Magistrates' Court on November 3.
