A PARANORMAL investigation is due to be carried on Friday the 13th to see just how haunted a Pendle pub is.

The Four All's Inn in Higham will be visited by a team of paranormal experts tomorrow after claims that the pub is haunted by up to three ghosts.

The Paranormal Activity Research Team, based in Leeds, visited to Pendle as part of their research into the history and the supposed paranormal tales of the Pendle Witch Trial.

While here they heard stories about spooky goings on in the Four All's Inn and decided to visit the pub where the regulars told of sightings of a male figure at the end of the bar and of a young girl walkings through the bar and through a wall into the toilets.

One of the famous Pendle witches, Chattox, is believed to have put a curse on a Higham farmer's livestock and later killed the farmer's son and was also accused of turning the pub's beer sour.

And the pub's cellar was previously used to store bodies before moving them to the graveyard across the road.

Duane Ellis, the research team's founder member, said:" The Pendle area is full of stories about witches and paranormal activity and we are really looking forward to seeing for ourselves how haunted the place is.

"It's just a coincidence that we chose Friday 13th because it was the only day we were all free. I don't think the date will effect the results of the investigation but it could affect people's unconscious."

The investigation will start at midnight and will carry on until sunrise at about 5am.

Landlord John Baron said:" We had heard about ghosts in the pub from the previous owners. We have been here a year and haven't seen anything but it'll be interesting to see what happens on Friday night. If there are ghosts it might even attract more people to the pub."
