BURY Grammar School's kindergarten pupils joined more than 80,000 youngsters across the country in a record-breaking walking bus.
Organised by road safety charity Brake, 160 children left the Bridge Road school at exactly 10am to follow a 15-minute circular route.
The pupils also made small donations which raised more than £170 for the charity.
Children from 520 schools across the UK took part in the event, beating their own world record of 57,476 children in the walking bus in 2006.
Mrs Diana Robinson, kindergarten headteacher, said: "Brake asked if we could take part in the walking bus to increase awareness of road safety and raise money. It was a very successful day and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it."
