A lack of business from cinema giants Odeon has led to 45 job losses at a Ribbleton factory.
Workers at the Hollywood Express plant in Longridge Road have been told that they are to lose their jobs in the summer because it is not making enough money from its parent company Odeon.
But they have been told that they must stay on for another few months to help the factory cope with forthcoming movie releases including Shrek 3, The Simpsons movie and the new Harry Potter film.
The factory in Ribbleton makes and distributes popcorn to all Odeon cinemas across the country, including the Preston branch on Riversway.
No one at the plant or Odeon was available for comment as we went to press.
