A REVOLUTIONARY new new concept in CCTV technology is being spearheaded by Bury businessman Paul Farrey which is generating significant interest within the UK's lucrative domestic and business security market.

Paul's thriving Windsor Digital Surveillance company recently launched a multi-functional PC plug and play digital video recording system that allows its users to attach any CCTV cameras and protect their premises.

The system, for which he has negotiated UK sales distribution rights with his Korean counterparts, is branded Crime-Seen and is currently available through electrical wholesalers T. N. Robinson, with other outlets to follow.

Already, the system is being harnessed to good effect by Ramsbottom-based bookbinders Cyril Formby, resulting in the number of anti-social behaviour incidents being cut.

Paul, who launched Windsor five years ago, explained: "Crime-Seen has been developed as a low-cost digital recording solution for security and it can be installed very easily by plugging into the USB port of a home or business computer, with cameras attached accordingly.

"It allows you to watch your premises from anywhere in the world at any time, record activity by motion detection and send images to email and mobile phone upon alarm activation.

Additionally, it is being used as a powerful, high quality live broadcasting tool due to its unique data compression - you can even record TV on your PC or watch a TV programme from anywhere in the world."

He went on: "This, combined with the facility to videoconference up to eight remotely-based personnel as well as to attach to external alarms and sensors, makes the product an all-in-one device for different uses, primarily security."

And a separate software option enables a user to view 32 sites at the same time from one PC thousands of miles away."

Commenting on the background to the system, Paul said: "Crime-Seen has been developed jointly by ourselves and our Korean software partners for the UK market.

"We have total exclusivity on the distribution of the product."

In fact, the Bury businessman has received strong interest from a housebuilding firm and has been involved in discussions with military suppliers and other prospective clients.

Paul is delighted that the equipment has been tried and tested locally and is more than proving its worth at Cyril Formby's Radcliffe premises.

He said: "The unit and cameras were installed several months ago and have already captured vital data for potential evidential use in the fight against anti-social behaviour. while others are currently reviewing the system."
