As my computer is behaving badly and broadband is up and down more than an umbrella at Wimbledon, I thought a call to 100 would solve my problem.
But I was put through to a charming young lady in India who advised me to twiddle with this and adjust that until I suggested, ever so politely, that I would prefer to speak with a local technician in Blackburn!
No problem with her but goodness, what balderdash to forward our calls to another continent. Is this what we are paying for? I know that the railways have trouble with the wrong kind of leaves, and maybe BT can’t deal with fluctuations in the weather but please, don’t treat us like imbeciles – let your engineers talk to us; we don’t bite unless we’re provoked! And BT, you are behaving very badly.
