You must be a staunch Tory to blame Gordon Brown on the recession (Finger Bang, Online Debate, June 9) Everybody knows that Gordon Brown was quite a good Chancellor, and he was doing well until the banks started gambling with our money.

He wasn’t a good Prime Minister, and everyone knows that too, but it wasn’t because he couldn’t do the work, it was because he wasn't a ‘People Person’ like Tony Blair.

Andy 1 of Burnley was right when he stated that the bankers were to blame. Now, Gordon Brown made a mistake there when he didn’t punish the banks as he said he would.

However, the banks hold all the cards and if they are not paid their ‘big bonuses’, they could do the same again, only worse, So I’m betting that he couldn't do an awful lot!
