I would like to make a comment regarding the misuse of grit in Accrington town centre on the Monday of the heavy snowfall.
A Lancashire Council wagon had two men lashing grit across the pavement in front of the market and town hall like it was going out of fashion, with no thought for the side roads like Avondale Road that has no grit box and was completely impassable – a district nurse has to walk to visit elderly residents daily. Surely safety should come first on Avondale as anywhere else.
