YOU refer (LT, April 18) to the structure which is sited on land between Ash Street and Plane Street, Blackburn as being a "steel eyesore" and pose the question "what would you like to happen on the site?"
For nearly 40 years I have been chairman of Bangor Street Community Association. Bangor Street Community Centre is well used to the extent that we cannot accommodate all the organisations that wish to use it.
I suggest that the local authority make overtures to the owners of the land and the steel framework that stands in Ash Street and Plane Street to get them to consider giving the structure and land to Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, so that they can complete it and it can act as an overflow centre to Bangor Street.
