I READ with interest your article on rubbish dumped in the alley behind Willow Street, Darwen and also Nicholas Street.
Enclosed in a photo of the back outside my home and believe me that was on a good day. Myself and a friend are always cleaning up and ringing the council about the amount of rubbish dumped. How we haven't got a plague of rats I do not know.
Hope this shames the people responsible, it was bad enough when bins were emptied weekly. I recycled everything, but struggle with fortnightly and my yard is always a mess.
I don't know how people with larger families manage. If mine were still at home I don't know what I would do.
Bins really need emptying weekly for the sake of health and hygiene.
