A TOURIST attraction has closed its gates for the next two months as the final stage of a renovation project gets under way.
Clitheroe Castle keep will be closed to the public as part of a £3.2million redevelopment of the site which will see repairs to its stonework as part of the Clitheroe Castle Heritage Scheme.
Work inside the keep on the installation of wiring and lights, a web cam and sound system, signage and interpretation boards, was undertaken last year.
Clitheroe Castle Heritage Scheme will see a glass atrium linking the Clitheroe Castle Museum and North West Sound Archives on two levels, with a lift, facilities for the disabled, café, exhibition space, interactive display facilities and education suite.
Work is expected to be complete by next spring.
