A CONSERVATIVE MP has urged the Government to remove Robert Mugabe's honorary knighthood.
Nigel Evans, MP for the Ribble Valley, said it was sending the wrong message to the rest of the world by repealling the award.
He added: "It is hugely regrettable that Robert Mugabe was awarded an honorary knighthood in 1994, but we have an opportunity now to show Mr Mugabe that the British Government does not endorse his position of power in any way.
"The House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee recommended that we take such action in 2003 and it is lamentable that we have not taken steps to remove all the privileges that the UK bestowed upon him.
"I have co-signed an EDM to this effect and I would encourage all my colleagues to do the same.
"Millions of his countrymen starve whilst inflation reaches incredible proportions.

"He clings to power and intimidates or crushes any opposition to him.
"He has become a dictator in denying the Zimbabwean people a free and fair election."
Mr Evans appears to be labouring under the illusion that the government of this country have some sort of regard for for anyone outside their own group of family and friends!
Remove his knighthood? Hang ona second - when Saddam was behaving is a similar manner, Blair used it as justification to invade his country and install a government of his (and Bush's) own choosing. Why don't we invade Mugabe's place, execute him for his crimes, and turn his country into a better place?
Oh... what's that? They're not an oil-rich country... ohhhhhh....

I don't think you can judge what Mr Mugabe has done with what we did to those who killed innocent people over 20 years etc. I do agree that Mr Mugabe should be stripped of his Knighthood that he got in 1994 and he should go now.

Mugabe's knighthood is a historical testament to how he and British colonialists used to play ball with each other quite closely. (Margaret Thatcher and Mugabe did a lot of business together, lest we forget the role of imperial power in supporting terrible governance under Mugabe.) Western ideologues today seem to be so terribly blind and self-serving that they actually fail to realize that Mugabe would be very happy to lose his knighthood now. If England takes away Mugabe's knighthood, this would do nothing more than hurt the opposition movement in Zimbabwe.

Personally,I would strip this vile individual of his SKIN,never mind the faux 'knighthood' that he somehow managed to aquire.
This maggot has proven that rabid racism is not exclusively confind to the white race. He managed to decimate (in the most horrific way...)all the white farmers AND their families, babies included, and turn Zimbabwé into the worst country on planet Earth...
