A NEW online record of historic local photographs could be created if a funding bid is successful.
More than 15,000 pictures of the area can be viewed by visiting Bury Library's archives and logging on to the computers there.
Many hundreds have been donated by the public but many have not been catalogued, which is why going online would help.
People could access the web and add details, which would be verified by a professional.
Anyone could then add their own images.
A meeting will be held at the Moss Street museum on April 28, from 10am to 1pm, and local historians are invited to contribute suggestions. The result will be used to put together a bid.
