A BURY call centre will be buzzing next month when its phone lines will open to accept donations for Sport Relief 08.
A total of 80 staff based at the DSGi Business centre at Waterfold Park have committed themselves to manning donation lines from 6pm on Friday, March 14. Nationally, the event will be televised from 7pm to 1am on BBC 1. The live telecast will include sports stars and celebrities competing against each other in sporting challenges to raise money.
Jerry Roest, managing director for DSGi Business said: "Our Bury call centre and staff are fully equipped to take thousands of incoming calls. We're very much looking forward to the challenge of taking calls for as many donations as possible. I'm sure our office will be buzzing on the night as we get into the spirit of Sport Relief."
On the night, the Bury staff will also be raising their own funds for the charity. Employees dressed as gangsters and molls will be taking part in aerobics sessions, karaoke and running their own talent competition.
Sport Relief '08 is a charity event led by Comic Relief that uses sport to raise money and help vulnerable people in the UK and across the world's poorest countries.
