Staff were threatened with a gun during a robbery at Withington Post Office.

Two masked men went into the shop on Egerton Crescent and pointed a gun at staff shortly after midday on Monday.

They demanded the staff and customers in the shop lay on the floor, before approaching the counter and demanding cash.

Staff handed over cash and the men demanded more. The staff were not able to give them any more and the offenders left the shop.

No-one was injured during the incident but staff and customers were left shaken.

The first offender is described as black, in his early 20s, about 5ft 9in tall with a muscular build, round face and wearing dark clothing and a dark face covering.

The second man is described as white, in his early 20s, about 5ft 9in tall and wearing a dark face covering and carrying a rucksack.
