A DRUNKEN woman who left hospital without being treated was abusive towards police officers sent to collect her.

Blackburn magistrates heard that when she was returned to the Royal Blackburn Hospital, Siama Sehar Khan shouted racist abuse at an Asian member of staff and a white police officer. Khan, 35, of Zion Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to racially aggravated threatening behaviour.

She was made subject to community supervision for 12 months. Catherine Allan, prosecuting, said that after Khan became abusive at the hospital, staff withdrew the offer to treat her and she was escorted from the premises and arrested.

Aftab Bakhat, defending, said his client had been drinking and had no recollection of the incident. "She is horrified at the comments that have been attributed to her and wishes to apologise to everyone she offended," he said.
