Kind-hearted runners from Lancashire are being encouraged to enter the Great Manchester Run and help local cancer patients.

The Rosemere Cancer Foundation, which supports cancer services and projects at the Rosemere Cancer Centre at Royal Preston Hospital as well as at other cancer units and clinics in Lancashire and South Cumbria, has a limited number of places available for the run on 18 May 2008.

Ron McAndrew, events coordinator, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: "Around 25,000 runners will take part in the race and we have a limited number of places available for this fantastic event.

"We're looking for fun or keen runners to take part and help raise much needed funds for local cancer patients.

"Please show your support and join the Rosemere team."

Runners will receive free entry to the race by raising a minimum of £150 sponsorship.
