BURY’S Coronation Street star Vicky Binns is getting her glad rags on in support of the NSPCC’s latest campaign to help children and young people in Greater Manchester.

The 26-year-old actress, who plays Molly Compton in the soap, will be appearing at one of this season’s major fashion events in the city to help raise money for the charity’s helplines.

A Feast of Festive Fashion — to be held next Wednesday at Harvey Nichols’ second floor restaurant — will see one of Britain’s leading lights from the fashion industry, Jeff Banks, present a sneak-preview of seasonal trends for this Christmas.

Ex-Tottington High School pupil Vicky said: “One of the hardest things for children to do is summon the courage to speak out about what’s happening to them. If they do speak out I believe their cry for help must be heard, which is why I’m supporting the NSPCC’s Child’s Voice Appeal.”

The appeal aims to raise £50million over the next three years to expand vital helpline services.

Tickets for the event, beginning at 6.30pm, are still available for £75. For tickets or more information please contact the NSPCC Appeals team on 0161 628 1209 or email Angela Capper at acapper@nspcc.org.uk (bn200834863)
