TWO gap year students are returning to the classroom to stage their own theatre production.
Paul Jennings and Chris Pollard, both aged 18, have spent the past two-and-a-half months in rehearsals for Playing Away.
They will perform the comedy at 7.30pm on next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in the drama studio at Holy Cross College, where they are both former students.
As well as Paul and Chris, the only other actor in the production is 17-year-old Kate Dobson, who is currently studying A-levels at the Manchester Road college.
They have formed a theatre company to hold productions during their gap year and gain experience before going to university.
Paul, of Church Meadows, Hollins, said: “We hope to get some experience of working in the theatre before we go to university, but it would also be good to show the current students what they could do in the future.
“We have been working really hard and have already had lots of positive comments from people who have seen our rehearsals. We think it will be a really good show.”
Tickets for the production cost £3 and are available by contacting Paul on 07985 357691 or sending an email to pdj_395@hotmail.com.
