YOUNG people should have free public transport to help combat climate change, says MP David Chaytor.
In the short term, he is calling for a maximum fare of 50p for under-18s, and ultimately he wants to see free travel for under-21s who are in full time education or training.
"If young people are given an incentive to use public transport in their teenage years, they are far more likely to stick with public transport as they get older," said the Bury North backbencher. "They are less likely to become car dependent, which will reduce carbon emissions."
So far, 43 MPs have backed his call.

What a sensible solution, not cheap but forward thinking. Esp. given that the govt want to make education compulsory for all under 18's. bold]bold
