A SCHOOL in Kearsley could find out tomorrow if it is allowed to put up a new security fence.
Bolton Council’s planning and highways committee will consider the application by St Stephen’s Kearsley Moor Primary School at a public meeting at Bolton town hall.
The school’s governors want to put up a two-and-a-half- metre mesh fence around three sides of the site in Bent Spur Road.
The current blue railings will be left in place at the rear of the school grounds near to Holcombe Close.
Several residents have complained to the council that the new fence would be too high, unsightly and block light from gardens.
They also argue that the fence, to be put up to stop youths getting into the grounds at night, would only move the problem to another area.
Council officers have recommended the application be approved as long as the school painted the fence a colour that fitted in with the neighbourhood.
