ONE of the valley’s most popular weekend venues is set to be given a new lease of life — by former staff.

Madisons in Burnley Road, Rawtenstall, is set for a revival this Friday as it reopens after several weeks’ absence.

And partners in H2Inns are hoping that the relaunch will bring back the glory days to the nightspot.

Each of the bosses have previously either worked behind the bar at Madison’s or been in charge of their own bars elsewhere in Rossendale and surrounding areas.

A H2Inns spokesman said: “We hope to get it back to how it used to be — a lively venue with great music.

“We have done a lot of work on redecorating and we are going to be reopening the upstairs function room.”Plans are in place for the bar to open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with music downstairs and a more ‘mellow’ lounge upstairs.

“The lounge will be there so people can hear themselves talk and relax, which is something other places don’t necessarily have,” added the spokesman.

“We are now the only bar at this end of the town centre. And Madison’s was always too big a place to remain closed.”

The venue has been mothballed since 21-year-old Thomas O’Toole called time on his tenure there back in August.

Promotional offers and a live DJ are planned for the grand relaunch and specialist nights are under consideration.

l The new Bar Zazu has also been opened now by Karl Boddy next to his Vogue nightspot in Bacup Road.

Think about it there's a reason it shut last time , don't throw the shutters and boards away yet you may need them.
