Council approves building change

DEVELOPERS have applied for permission to reduce the size of a housing scheme.

Morris Homes was given Bolton Council planning permission in 2009 to build 36 houses and 12 apartments on land off Hulme Road, Stoneclough, on the site of the forrmer Industrial Maintenance Products Ltd works. Morris Homes now wants to build a total of 33 houses and Bolton planning committee has approved the change.

There were three objections to the application. One of those against the plan was Joanne Barnes, of Hollow Meadow, Stoneclough.

She said: “There are many issues which have been overlooked. What type of houses will they be? Will my property be overlooked?”

In a report, planning officer Alex Allen said: “These letters do not raise any particular issues other than information requirements.”

Morris Homes will have three years to begin work.
