AN investigation has been launched after a fire in an empty rental property.
Police and firefighters have launched a joint invesitgation after neighbours spotted smoke pouring from a rear bedroom of a house in Cedar Street, Accrington.
Fire crews were called to the property shortly after 10am this morning.
A Lancashire fire service spokesman said: “At this stage the fire is being treated as suspicious. It looks to have started following a slow burn, in the same way a fire started by a discarded cigarette butt would look.”
Anyone with information about the fire should call police on 101.
