The 43-year-old was with friends when she was hit around the back of her head, and had her leggings pulled up, in Hammerton Street, at around 3.45am. The victim tried to confront the offender, before he bit her twice and ran off.

Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information, to call Burnley Police on 425001, or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555 111.

"she was hit around the back of her head, and had her leggings pulled up"
