TEN budding comedians will try out their routines on a friendly audience as part of a Stand-Up Comedy X Factor night.
The Bleachworks bar, in Dunscar Business Park, will be the venue for the would-be comedians tomorrow.
A panel of judges, including Bolton News entertainment writer Melanie Wallwork, Elaine Taylor from Bolton FM and a professional comedian will choose the winner, who will receive a £75 cash prize and a return spot. Each comedian will get five or six minutes’ stage time and will receive a comment from the judges and be marked out of 10, with the highest scoring taking the top prize money. Additional prizes will be given for second and third place.
The 10 stand-ups are all from Bolton, Bury and surrounding areas. Bolton’s Ben Lawes will start proceedings and Lee Tommo, from Fallout Comedy, will be MC.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm, with an entry price of £3 for non-members and £2 for members. For those who attend the curry night at the nearby Brewhouse pub, entry will be free on production of a curry ticket.
The Brewhouse has teamed up with Indian restaurant Spice Valley, offering a top-quality curry for just £5. The club will also be raising money for Bolton Hospice on the night.
