A MAN who attacked a victim he saw with his girlfriend in a nightclub, walked free from court.
Damian Britton, 26, hit his victim at Posh in Burnley, the town’s crown court was told. The defendant, of Bowland Avenue, Burnley, admitted assault causing actual bodily harm and had been committed for sentence by the town’s magistrates.
Recorder Andrew Long gave him 36 weeks in prison, suspended for a year, with 12 months’ supervision, the Lancashire Alcohol Specified Activity Requirement and a three-month curfew, between 9pm and 6am, every day except Thursday, when it is 9.30pm to 6am. He must also pay £500 compensation. The judge told him: “This is an opportunity for you. I hope you use it.”
