TRIBUTES have been paid to a Blackburn dad-of-two, who was killed with his friend in a head-on car crash.

Kevin Evans, 34, was a front seat passenger in a VW Golf that collided with a Ford Focus in Preston Old Road, Feniscowles, at 11.10pm on Wednesday.

The Golf driver, 35-year-old Jamie Dickson of Bamber Bridge, died at the scene, and Mr Evans died a short time later at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Mr Evan’s family have spoken of their “much loved” son. In a statement they said: “Kevin Evans, aged 34, was a much loved son, brother and father to Katie and Megan. He tragically died in a road traffic accident on Wednesday evening.

“He will be sadly missed by his family and everybody who knew and loved him.”

The family of Jamie Dixon said: “Jamie was sadly taken away from his family and will always be remembered as a fun loving, caring, kind and young driven man who had high expectations in life.

“He was a great son, brother, uncle and great uncle who will never be forgotten.”

It is thought that the two men became friends as regulars at the Ley Inn pub in Clayton-le-Woods, near Chorley.

Police said that a 59-year-old man from Poulton-le-Fylde, who was driving the Ford Focus, was yesterday in a “serious but stable” condition at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. He sustained internal and leg injuries.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Road Policing Unit at Samlesbury on 101.
