Rush-hour crash causes chaos on A580

MOTORISTS faced rush-hour chaos after two crashes on busy main roads around Bolton.
Four cars collided on the link road between the M61 Kearsley Spur and A580 East Lancashire Road at 7.45am.
A man and a woman were taken to hospital for treatment, though their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police officers, paramedics and traffic officers from the Highways Agency were at the scene. The road has since been cleared.
Motorists also encountered delays when a black BMW Coupe hit the central reservation of the A580 East Lancashire Road in Swinton at 6.20am today.
The vehicle was badly damaged but the male driver escaped without injury.
Two lanes of the road were closed until 8am while the debris was cleared, causing long delays.
The driver has been arrested by police and an investigation is underway.
