Raise a glass to Olympic heroes

THOUSANDS of realale fans will be raising their glasses to Bolton’s olympic heroes at a beer festival this weekend.

The Edgworth Real Ale Festival will take place at the Barlow Institute in Edgworth, running until tomorrow, with music from The Witnesses.

This year’s event has been dubbed the Aleympics and guests will be toasting Bolton’s Olympic heroes, Jason Kenny, who won two cycling gold medals at the London 2012 games and Stuart Stokes, who competed in the steeplechase.

Edgworth Real Ale Festival chairman Alex Docherty said: “The lads did Bolton proud this summer and it is only right that we all raise a glass in their honour — and it would be a massive bonus if they came along to join in the fun.”

The event will raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, The Prostate Cancer Charity and The Michael Williams Trust.

Since starting the festival has raised £55,000.

Visit eraf.org.uk for details. Opening hours are noon to 11pm on Saturday and noon to 4pm on Sunday. Entry costs £4 on the door.
