A LASTING tribute to Bolton's greatest footballing legend, Nat Lofthouse, was unveiled tonight in a ceremony at the Reebok Stadium.
Manager Owen Coyle and chairman Phil Gartside exposed a bronze freize featuring the iconic image of the Wanderers hero holding the FA Cup while being lifted by the 1958 team.
Mildred Clayton, Nat's partner of 25 years, along with fans, Bolton dignitaries and footballers from the past and present, attended the Lion of Vienna Suite at the Reebok tonight to see the image.
Sculptor Sean Hedges-Quinn spent three months crafting the artwork, one of two pieces that will be placed in a memorial garden at the Reebok Stadium .
Coyle said: "We all know how important Nat was to Bolton Wanderers . He epitomised everything about the club.
"He was a household name. As much as he was a big star he was a humble man and you always found him with a smile."
The two bronze images will be placed alongside a nine-foot statue of Nat.
The statue will be unveiled on August 27 next year, on what would have been Nat's 88th birthday.
