Burnley audio equipment company to boost trade with Brazil

AN audio equipment company based in Burnley is being hailed as a leading example of the UK’s creative industries as it joins a delegation hoping to boost trade with Brazil.
Staff from AMS Neve will this week join a join a UK Trade and Investment mission comprising some of the country’s most promising companies from the film, music, TV and digital sectors as they visit Brazil.
They will meet Marcelo Mattos, the secretary of culture for the state of Sao Paulo, and some of Brazil’s leading media conglomerates, such as Globo and Editora Abril.
Dominic Coll, business development manager for the Billington Road firm, said: “Brazil is a rapidly developing country with a strong musical culture, and AMS Neve’s new range of studio outboard is a perfect match for new and existing talent.
We hope to bring fresh, no-compromise, high quality and audio recording and mixing products into the broadcast, music recording, post production and live sound markets.”
Several thousands of the firm’s systems have been installed world-wide.
Brazil is also set to be the focus of global attention during the forthcoming football World Cup in 2014 and the 2016 Olympics.
AMS Neve already have trade links there, having recently announced a new distributor who will take delivery of their new Neve Genesys music production console this month.
The firm, based in Billington Road, Burnley, provided the equipment used to mix the music soundtrack for silent film ‘The Artist’, which picked up five Oscars including best original score.
Other Oscar-nominated films their equipment was used on include Anna Karenina, starring Keira Knightley, Black Swan, The Iron Lady, Tinker, Tailor Soldier, Spy, War Horse, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and Moneyball.
Brazil is the world’s 12th biggest music market.
Between 2010 and 2011, the recording industry grew 8.47 per cent, achieving a turnover of £129m.
