POLICE watched as two men removed stone flags from one property and carried them to the house next door.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Daniel Thomas Ainsworth was the owner of the adjoining property and also one of the removal men.
Ainsworth, 31, of Nuttall Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to burglary at a house in Nuttall Street. He was fined £75 with £100 costs.
The magistrates issued a warrant for the arrest of Michael William Ackerman, 26, of Edmund Street, Accrington, who failed to appear to answer the same charge.
Gareth Price, defending, said Ackerman had been at home when a friend called and said shuttering on the empty property next door had been broken.
He suggested they go and “have a nosey”.
“He accepts they removed about half-a-dozen stone flags and put them in his own home,” said Mr Price.
