A FATHER of three who died aged just 32 was a “lovable rogue”, an inquest heard.
John Ronald Thompson was found dead at his home in Fylde Avenue, Breightmet , on August 27 last year following a turbulent history with alcohol and “social problems”.
Bolton Coroner Jennifer Leeming said Audrey Wilson, Mr Thompson’s mother, could not have done anything more for her son before his death.
It is believed Mr Thompson hanged himself in his home following previous attempts to take his own life, Bolton Coroners’ Court heard. The 32- year-old had taken an overdose of 40 paracetomal tablets on July 19, 2011, while under the influence of alcohol.
Mr Thompson is reported to have struggled with the breakdown of his relationship with the mother of his children and had taken to drinking alcohol regularly.
He lost as job at B&Q, where he had worked for 10 years, and was sent to prison for breaching a restraining order from his expartner, the inquest heard.
The inquest into Mr Thompson’s cause of death continues.
