Father of three ‘had drink and social problems'

A FATHER of three who died aged just 32 was a “lovable rogue”, an inquest heard.

John Ronald Thompson was found dead at his home in Fylde Avenue, Breightmet , on August 27 last year following a turbulent history with alcohol and “social problems”.

Bolton Coroner Jennifer Leeming said Audrey Wilson, Mr Thompson’s mother, could not have done anything more for her son before his death.

It is believed Mr Thompson hanged himself in his home following previous attempts to take his own life, Bolton Coroners’ Court heard. The 32- year-old had taken an overdose of 40 paracetomal tablets on July 19, 2011, while under the influence of alcohol.

Mr Thompson is reported to have struggled with the breakdown of his relationship with the mother of his children and had taken to drinking alcohol regularly.

He lost as job at B&Q, where he had worked for 10 years, and was sent to prison for breaching a restraining order from his expartner, the inquest heard.

The inquest into Mr Thompson’s cause of death continues.

RIP John, you will always be remembered by me. You were such a larger than life character and I cant believe you have gone. I really do hope there is a place called heaven up there and that you are being looked after and are happy! xxx

Yes, we will never forget our John who always had time for family and friends. Such a shame that he left us so soon. If only he knew how much people cared for him, and that he had so much still to live for.
