BMW ‘test’ driver fined for not having insurance

A MOTORIST who testdrove a BMW without being insured has been fined by Bolton magistrates.
Karwan Mohammad Rasul, aged 28, of Settle Street, Little Lever , was stopped by the police while driving the car in Higher Swan Lane, Bolton, in February.
He pleaded guilty to the offence at Bolton Magistrates Court who heard he had a full, clean driving licence but was not insured.
Rasul, who represented himself, said: “A guy came to my mate’s and said he’d bought a car.
“He said I could have a try.
I was not aware of insurance issues. I’ve no previous convictions.”Magistrates fined him £110, endorsed his licence with six penalty points and ordered him to pay £35 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
