Houses cordonned off after fight in Blackburn street

FIVE HOUSES were cordoned off after a street brawl which left a man in hospital.
Police were called to Haslingden Road in Blackburn at 7am today after they received calls relating to an assault in the early hours of the morning.
Neighbours close to the scene said that around five people had been brawling in the street at about 5am.
Police were today at the scene to keep the area secure for evidence and were carrying out door to door enquiries.
A police spokesman said: “We were called to Haslingden Road at 7.05am after we received reports about an assault to a male.
“It is believed that the incident began inside his house and that he knew the people who were involved.
“The man took himself to Royal Blackburn Hospital with cuts and lacerations.
“We are currently carrying out door to door enquiries and have cordoned off the property to ensure that any evidence is safe as the man is still in hospital.”
