What difference does it make what she was wearing, she was still attacked by scum. What next, man wearing jeans hit over the head or, woman in flat shoes has phone stolen. Please.Why not just put teenager mugged when leaving place of worship.

Neither the wearing of jeans nor the wearing of flat shoes can impair one's vision quite like the wearing of a veil. The wearing or not of a veil may or may not have influenced the outcome of the matter - a girl injured and robbed - but it is good advice to walk in the company of at least one other, and it is more good advice to eschew the wearing of a veil, a mask or other headgear which impairs one's vision or hearing.

A lot about the victim ( who wants to remain anonymous ) but there is one GLARING fact about the perp that has been missed out!!!

Many Asian women wear nikab/hijab/burka as a matter of choice and it's their choice. It comes to a pretty sad state of affairs when a devout muslim is attacked on the streets.

Over the years, I have written some terrible things about Islam and it's followers but have never come to blows with any, even the one's that know my real name. So when I say that I hope you get better soon, it's an heartfelt emotion. What was done to you is entirely wrong and I hope you can find it within your heart to forgive them, much as Christians do. Some things are just not done, and this is one of them.

Too true, woolywords! Nobody has the right to attack a person, physically, irrespective of their choice of clothing, or religious leanings.

As far as this incident goes, it was nothing more than a targeted robbery of a woman, that so happened to be wearing traditional Islamic garb!
I say 'targeted' as the perpetrator would have Sussed that the victim would find it rather difficult to give chase, or apprehend him!

Personally, i sincerely hope that she gets over this awful episode.

It's a sad state of affairs when a young lady minding her own business gets attacked in the street for no reason at all. My thoughts are with her and I hope she makes a full recovery very soon. I would also like her to know that it's only a small minority of people that are evil and the vast majority of people in Blackburn are decent, respectful and live in peace with each other.

The only reason I can see for mentioning the fact that she was in full Asian dress is to A make out that it was a racially motivated crime (if so then there would most likely of been more than just a mugging) or B try to incite some sort of racial hatred.

Reporters are scum they do nothing but stir things up by taking creative liberties whilst "reporting a story"

Whilst Muslim people wish to wear a veil, which I respect, it does mean that their "field of vision" is very much restricted. Much the same as a horse wearing blinkers. This makes it so much easier for an attacker to approach you, with a result such as this. The fashion for young people to walk around town with their hood up, also puts them as a very easy target, to hit them from behind. So the CCTV may not see your face, but the robber will find it easy to hit you from behind. Think about it.

I disagree with you. A bikers helmet you can see through it perfectly unless if the material is affecting your eyes. If worn properly, you can do speeds of 70mph on the motorway, whilst having the plastic infront which actually covers your eyes, you can see through it perfecty. With a veil, there is nothing covering the eyes, It's highly unlikely a woman would have her eyes covered. 99% of veil wearers would want to show the shape of there eyes. It's just what you typed did'nt make sense so i thought i'd clarify.

The attacker is described as 5ft 7ins tall, of skinny build and wearing casual clothing.

The truth is Mr Perfekt, this moron Britain for British was approached aggresively by 3 asian lads and despite reporting it to the police, they failed to take up his complaints and take action .He could neither confront them because as he put it, they were bigger and taller than him! That grudge has now lead him to behave in this peculiar manner and is regularly refering to his buffoon 'dad' when posting a comment. I would not classify this as a person suffering from mental disorder, but somewhere along them lines. Help is available for these type of nutters and I would not hesitate to provide him with informatiomn as to where he could obtain mental assistance if I knew one.
