Man taken to hospital following Rawtenstall road collision

A 35-YEAR-OLD man has been taken to hospital after he was involved in a road traffic collision in Rawtenstall this morning.

The incident happened at 7.10am in Blackburn Road and the driver of the vehicle had to be cut free.

Rawtenstall watch manager Shaun Naughton said: “The male was trapped so we had to use cutting equipment to free him from the vehicle.

“The firefighters removed the roof and parts of the vehicle to release him.”

It is understood he was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment.
