TEACHERS at schools in Burnley can take their students to the cinema for free during the National Schools Film Week in October.
The festival aims to support classroom teaching by providing schools with an experience for their students that links to elements of the curriculum.
The town’s Apollo cinema will be showing films during the week commencing October 15, including Brave and War Horse.
Nick Walker, festival director, said: “The festival seeks to create a greater awareness and understanding of cinema based on the concept of relationships and dialogues in a variety of films, address issues of cultural exchange and raise awareness amongst teaching professionals of the use of film across the school curriculum.”
Teachers can book their tickets on-line at www.nationalschoolsfilmweek.org.
