A 38-year-old man was given a four-month prison sentence for pouring a can of lager over an ex-girlfriend.
Blackburn magistrates heard the “assault” put Tariq Hussain Khan in breach of prison licence and he was being recalled to serve the remainder of his sentence.
Khan, of Romney Walk, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assaulting Lisa Hartley and was given a conditional discharge for 12 months.
Peter Wild, prosecuting, said police had escorted Khan away from Miss Hartley’s home but he returned after they had gone.
“He called her some names and then poured the lager over her head, which is the assault,” said Mr Wild.
Andrew Church-Taylor, defending, said Khan had been contacted by a friend who asked if he wanted to go to a party.
“It became apparent it was at the address of his ex-girlfriend,” said Mr Church-Taylor.
“He was there for about two hours and didn’t cause any trouble but Lisa then decided she didn’t want him there.
“He has now had his licence revoked and will spend four months in custody until the end of his previous sentence,” said Mr Church-Taylor.
