HOMES in Darwen have been evacuated after a section of the River Darwen burst its banks.
The A666 Bolton Road is closed in both directions after heavy rain throughout the day.
Lancashire Telegraph readers have sent photos showing deep water from across the town.
Duckworth Street residents have reportedly been evacuated to Darwen Leisure Centre after their homes were flooded.
Emergency services are dealing with a high volume of calls to flooding incidents in the area.
