Anyone who doesn't want to take part in the celebrations should just ignore and get on with doing their own thing. Wishing bad weather or ill-will towards those who do want an enjoyable time, or worse still the few who will go out of their way to actually spoil things, are sad people.

I enjoyed my jubilee-free day yesterday in Blackburn's Mall. There wasn't a hint of celebration there. I just joined the other shoppers who clearly had no interest in the royal hype.

The Queen didn't give anyone a day off. The day off was given by David Cameron, our elected Prime Minister. I personally won't get paid for the extra bank holiday, I have to take a day's pay out of my annual entitlement. Thanks for nothing.

It's nice to see a good show; the floatilla of boats and tonight's concert but we certainly don't need a monarch to be able to do these things.

I think that people in this country are entitled to do whatever they like within the Law and within reason. If people are happy to party then go ahead.

Anyone that chooses to do otherwise is also free to do so. That is what being "Free" is all about! I for one did not see any of the celebrations and/or otherwise observed them, unless inevitible, with as much austerity as I could muster.

Well before that time, we as a nation, had been paying dearly for the upkeep costs for all those on the Civil List and its various connections, and we continue to do so. I consider that those in the roles have , and continue to be, very well renumerated for the pleasure!

The heir to the throne for instance is "Given" the title of Duke of Cornwall and it provides him and his kin with quite a nice income amounting to £millions. It is about the same fore all the other incumbants of any appointed role such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge! I am given to believe that the Duke is now paying taxes on the earnings emanating from the activities of the Duchy's.

I believe that all income emanating from any royal estate should go to boost the income of the Treasury of the country. Others may claim that the Royals are value for money. I, for one, do not!

Before anyone claims me as a Republican, I am not of that persuasion! I have no inclination for a republic or otherwise at this time. However I do feel that the Head of State or Prime Minister in any country should be elected and answerable to the nations people.

I would be hard put to, I think, to locate any genuine "English" person who could fill the role. Certainly not among the all the present entitled elete.

A couple of things here. If it was fine for people to not agree with the weekends celebrations, then there would be no need for them to keep this to themselves would there? It's like saying if you don't agree with the Coalition governments austerity measures, fine, but don't say anything about them or express your disapproval in any way what so ever. That would be considered to be quite oppressive surely and certainly not in keeping with democratic principles and ideas of free speech and freedom of expression. Also if you have no time for killjoys why are you on here ranting about killjoys? That surely can be considered to be a dedication of at least a small proportion of your time to killjoys.

My biggest concern is the fact that its not just the Bilderberg Group that thinks that there is a population problem bonny Prince Phillip thinks its a problem as well.. Thats not a conspiracy its a fact..

Unfortunately after looking at the population problem worldwide for a number of years I coudn't disagree with either the Bilderberg Group or Prince Phillip only with there ways of dealing with it. The world is not sustainable for the next ten years as it stands. At the start of the industrial revolution we needed lots of people to build the world into the shape of what it is today. As we glide in to a world of hi-tech computerisation and gizmos for doing everything for us we drift away from needing the the vast workforces we once did. However I am affraid to say that the ones who once found a purpose to life in the industrial revolution for generations of families find themselves at a loss and thats how we have ended up with lots of alcoholics and drug addicts to care for. This care is also not sustainable and some of the ideas they which to use in the states is quite horrific,theyr'e calling them retraining camps (checkable on line) for the unemployable and people who don't conform to society.WTF. After the second world war they called them extermination camps before the war they called them retraining camps or something very similar I only hope the facts I have found are wrong otherwise we are the 90%. I found this in the Dailymail after tracking who the benefactors are who financed the Pageant on the Thames. Investment banker JP Morgan, which had also been named as one of those approached, has now made a 'sizeable' contribution.
A source insisted it had been approached by pageant organisers only at the beginning of the month and had decided to make a donation before its name was made public.

Why wouldn't you want the public to know that you have donated cash to the Queens pageant if its all above board.?
