A TEENAGE chef has chosen a bizarre subject for a his leg tattoo – London Mayor Boris Johnson.

Lewis Jolly, 19, said he chose to have the likeness of mayoral candidate Boris inked on his thigh because he was ‘patriotic’ and it was ‘something a bit different’.

The eight-inch diameter Tory tattoo was done by Jay Abbott of Psycho Monkey in Adlington.

It took three hours to complete and cost Lewis, who works at the Spinners Arms, Cowling, Chorley, £180.

Lewis, who is a former St Michael’s High School pupil, has cooked at the country pub since it reopened last month.

He said he had been considering a quirky tattoo for a while but the decision to permanently commemorate Boris and his blond locks came more recently.

“It was a spur of the moment really,” he said.

“Boris just makes me smile every time I see him and seems to be a character with humour.

“It’s not a big political statement. It’s just really about not taking life so seriously.

“The customers in the pub think I’m mad, but it gives them a laugh.”

Lewis has two other tattoos, of a cross and Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. He has only visited London, where elections for mayor take place next week, once in his life.

He also has ideas about who could be the next face to adorn his other leg.

“I think it would be funny if someone had Keith Lemon from Celebrity Juice,” he said.

“He’s another person who makes me laugh. Maybe I’ll do it when the fuss from this has died down.”

Boris himself has thanked Lewis for the tribute etched on his skin for life.

He said: “I’m honoured by the artistic gesture, it’s a sight for sore thighs!”
