Yobs smash 15 windows at Darwen primary school

FIFTEEN windows at a primary school were smashed by yobs last night.

Police said that in addition to the attack on Holy Trinity School, Bank Top, Darwen, last night there was also four windows smashed at St Paul’s Primary School in Hoddlesden.

In total the yobs are estimated to have caused £1,700 damage.

Officers have been stepped up patrols and are examining CCTV and speaking to local residents. Anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Community Beat Manager PC Vanessa Lomax said: “This mindless vandalism has caused great inconvenience to both schools that have been left with expensive repair bills.

“We are treating these as separate incidents and are keen to find out who was responsible. I urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the areas or who has any information to contact us.”

Anyone with information or concerns about crime can contact police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.

Wow well done! Your parents must be so proud!! Unless of course they are mindless cretins too. Perhaps somebody could return the favor and smash your house windows preferably with your heads. Might knock a bit of sense in although I doubt it.

Probably just another thing to add to the list of accomplishments by these young, great achievers.....I'm sure they've got a promising future ahead.
I would address this comment to the persons responsible personally but odds are they are completely illiterate anyway !!!

Where were the police in Darwen? Guess its the cuts again. Get the police back in Darwen fulltime, not being based at the Whitebirk station.

That's another £1,700 that BwDBC, as the local education authority, will have to find. Another £1,700 that will have to be cut from some other budget.

It's no good people moaning about Tory cuts when the spawns of scrotes are going round like this costing everyone money. Who pays for this? YOU do.

Won't the schools have to pay the bill, probably some rubbish insurance get out or pointless claiming. The cuts will effect the children in some way.
I thought schools were monitored from Greenbank anyway? Maybe it is the same monitoring that they did for Darwen train station - naff all but happy to charge for it!

There's always kids playing on school playgrounds and most of them are teenagers hammering a football around like they don't give a monkeys! Either that or they are smoking dope in the more secluded areas of the yards. No body ever moves them on... The kids next day are faced with all kinds of c r a p.

What's wrong with 'Darreners'?If they're not shooting birds they're smashing windows.

Not all the kids who play football up there are putting windows through all they are interested in is playing football there is no where else for thhem to play unless they stroll up to the playing fields but its not even safe up there these days.

Hmm seems a bit unfair just targeting the kids in my opinion. The parents don't give a flying toss just as much as the scrotes that are doing it. They're probably jobless parents with no intention of bringing their child up with respect or manners but rather fling the responsibility on someone else other than themselves. Should be the parents paying for this not the tax payer which I'm pretty **** sure it will come at some cost.

Totally agree with you here. Its only the majority that cant keep their behaviour under control. There some nice kids that play football around my area but you all ways get some low life that has to ruin it for the rest and put them all in the same stereotypical box. Its a shame really.

I teach at a school so I know what after 3:15 is like. Contrary to other people's beliefs our work does not stop when the bell goes
