Lancashire police missing third of crime reduction targets (From This Is Lancashire)

Are the public surprised by these figures,I would say No. The service offered by the current Police serving the people of Lancashire,has been on the decline for a number of years now.
The current spending cuts are just a convenient way of explaining the rise in crime.
For years now the Police have used a system where you either get a Policeman attending a problem or not.
The system has gone soft on what is termed as low grade crime. How on earth can a fixed penalty notice be served upon a person for lets say drunk and disorderly. Why are these people not removed from the streets,made to appear before a Court,and fined according to the level of their bad behaviour. That is but one example. Treat this type of behaviour softly,and the offender will go on to commit higher grade offences.
Its about time the Police started Policing the streets in order that decent members of society are safe and feel that they can go about their business without feeling afrad.

Well, what a surprise.

Slash the police budget, reduce the number of police officers and watch crime rise.

Common sense, except to the government who told us this would not happen.

If the police could manage without its crime recording service then we would not be troubled by such shocking matters. The 55 percent target on violence with injury is being missed by 0.6 percent! Can LT not display this is larger print?

chris283.. If your house had just been been burgled, and plod caught the offender by doing a routine stop / search on him or her.. would you still be bleating about harrassment? I have noted from your previous posts that you get stopped quite a lot by the Police when you're out and about don't you? You don't walk around wearing a black and White stripy jumper, a balaclava and carrying a bag with "swag" on it do you ?

i am just a genuine hard working guy never been in trouble with the plod ever they have no right stopping innocent people going about there daily life and i have just found out that they get certain monies for stop and search extra on there wages like i said there abusing there powers but they dont get change from me they talk to you like crap not this guy if they respect me then i will respect them he should have offered me my paper work for searching me but none was issued so i just log everything now times dates and wat ever needs to be done i would not mind if i had a criminal record but i dont

Do they bollo*ks get paid extra per stop and search, did you read that in Viz or something? I once had the misfortune of speaking to some Dickhe*d who honestly believed that for an arrest to be lawful the Police officer must be wearing a hat? You can't make this stuff up!

Seriously, you need to get over this paranoia you have about being harassed by the cops, it's not just you they are stopping there will be many others, and if there is a recent spate of burglaries in the area where you live then you should be pleased that the Police are out there stopping and searching people, especially as there numbers on the streets are ever dwindling.
Not everybody possesses great interpersonal skills when it comes to talking to people, admittedly Police officers should have a good level of this. Try being friendly with them if you are stopped again, be nice and maybe have a bit of banter with them and you'll probably find a positive reaction. You never know, if your house gets screwed or you get chinned and call the cops it might be the same one that turns up that you've been an ar*e with in the past.

Chris, I have set my font to "crayon" and will attempt to advise you of some facts:

1. The police do not get paid any extra for stop and searches.

2. The police are exempt from The Harassment Act and cannot "get done" for this.

3. Just because you pay some poor "lady of the night" money to spend time with you and perhaps cuddle - this does not make her your girlfriend or "gf."

4. Just because this desperate prostitute spends time soliciting in the streets does not make her a solicitor. You would have to pay more and get really screwed to see a real solicitor.

5. Hot spot for burglary = dump. You need to move out of this area. Ask your mum if she will let you move out.

chris283...if you are being stopped and searched and the police are not identifying themselves to you...your girlfriend can raise that without you needing to keep logging everything. Also as far as I understand...the paperwork that you mention is available on demand for 12mnths, it's not given at the time?? Have you requested it and been told there is none or have you assumed? Basically, if the paperworks there...then you don't need to keep a log...just request it for your records. How many times have you actually been stopped and searched in the past 12months...??

Several times and on each occasion they have failed to find a brain cell.

i have been stopped 4 times in the last month searched once there is just no need for it i am just going about my my gf works with some 1 whos hubby is a policeman even he turned round and advised me he should produce the paper work no matter wat he also said write a letter to the chief inspector complaining about it it is not always the same copper i just want to go to work and earn a living for my family and you get these idiots stopping me and saying where am i going and they talk to you like crap thinking there somert there a public servant and we pay there wages i have only ever met 1 decent copper in my life all the rest think they can look down there nose at you treating you like a 2nd class citizen some let there uniform go to there heads

Chris283, you moron pin em back and put them in recieve mode for a moment. There need not necessarily be any "paperwork" and the PC does not have to give it to you there and then. there is NO paperwork simply for speaking to people and if you are searched it should be recorded the PC should tell you who and where and why, and you do not need a GF to make anything official, you write its official you geek. PC's dont get paid extra for searching people or arresting people, you sound like the sort of person that a PC doesent want to be talking to at the best of times and i doubt they want to chat to you, but try listening or maybe say to the PC "I'm regularly out at this time, is there a description of anyone I can keep an eye out for to help you keep MY community safer or is there a number I can call to report anone I think is about to commit a crime" rather than being an idiot and making yourself look like the sort of person that supports or commits criminal activity. you may not have a criminal record but your attitude is setting you on the path toward it. yes PC's should be respectful, pleasant but just maybe, like you they are sick of disrespectful mingers and when yet another one apears to be unfolding before their eyes the attitude turns to one of robustness in case they have a weapon or are about to assult them. ask that nodding copper in the pub when he last put his boots on and went out because he's WRONG. your gf seems to let you rumble on and on and may advise you well but your not LISTENING to her I doubt you will be her bf for long unless you open your ears

I get stopped quite a lot but at the end of the day 5 minutes of my time to show i am not doing anything wrong is hardly worth complaining about really is it!

One day the police may realise that you can't always judge a book by its cover and leave me the hell alone! LOL

Err Chris283 like I said before you are not being receptive to the truth, the ears should be flapping not your mouth, (or keyboard) you are on autorant and getting annoyed thats what happens when you loose control and if you continue to get heated you might end up loosing it with PC and getting nicked, perhaps gf should give you a good talking to, if you open your mind to the fact that both you and the probably desk dwelling plod (I say this as desk plod is quoting 3 year out of date procedures) are TOTALLY WRONG.. PC does NOT HAVE to produce paperwork for speaking to you, stop and account forms were abolished by this government. however a PACE search does need to be recorded (that does not mean any paperwork needs to be generated) A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. I too was once stopped over 13 times in one month until I explained as I sugested you should. I have been stopped only twice since. I absolutely understood why i was being stopped but was unhappy at the numerous times, however on each occasion I was treated with respect and PC even pushed my car to restart it, not that it needed it but theres more than one way to get your own back As I drove off leaving the helpful plod gasping for air after pushing my car 20 yards. PC's are likely to be acting on intelligence if PC is looking for a type try asking thats all PC is doing. I'm sure there are snotty PC's just like ther are snotty members of the public. curtosey costs nothing, If every PC you come across is snotty I sugest its a case of i'm not mad it's everyone else. your turn of phrase doesent lead me to believe that you are aproaching being stopped with an open mind, go out tonite and give it a go or better still as GF to go for bread and stay indoors, ask yourself has she ever been stopped if not why not if PC picks on people just to bully them and abuse their powers.. Ever thought of looking on the shoulders of the officer who spoke to you?If they are in normal uniform they will have their number on the stab vest or the jacket that they are wearing.If in plain clothes they will identify themselves as police officers and should give their name
