SNOW covered most of East Lancashire this morning and the wintery Weather has been predicted to continue.
The snow resulted in hazardous driving conditions for motorists.
At around 11.30am a lorry overturned on the M65 near junction 10 leading to lane closures and drivers had to be diverted. Tailbacks stretched to junction 8.
Weather forecasters have warned that the entire country faces snow and a blanket of ice that will persist into next week.
The Met Office issued a yellow alert, predicting icy conditions on the roads for the whole of Britain, with travel disruption expected to continue until Tuesday.
