THREE men have denied stealing metal from an electric substation.
Martin Gavin, aged 46, of Hope Hey Lane, Ross Cahill, aged 33, of Carrfield Avenue, and Michael Seward, aged 50, of Old Lane, all Little Hulton, pleaded not guilty to burglary at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court yesterday.
They are all charged with entering a substation at Pilkington Tiles in Rake Lane, Clifton, with intent to steal metal to sell for scrap.
Cahill is also charged with perverting the course of justice, which he denies.
The charges relate to an incident on June 16 in which a man was badly burned by an electric shock while apparently trying to steal metal from the substation.
