A TRIPLE gold haul and two personal best performances gave Dartford Harrier Teresa Eades a triumphant finale to the athletics season at the European Masters Games in northern Italy.
In temperatures climbing above 30 degrees, Eades joined 4,000 participants for the Games in Lignano, where she competed in track and field.
Her first gold medal came in the 300m hurdles, where she smashed her previous best by finishing in 57.68 seconds.
She also broke her best long jump distance, leaping 4.26m, an improvement of 15cm.
This was good enough only for silver, but Eades added further golds in the triple jump and pole vault.
She said: “I was delighted with the results, especially given the heat.
“It’s lovely to finish on a high. It’s obviously very satisfying to win three gold medals, but I was most pleased with my personal best results.
“The Games themselves were competitive and very well organised.
“But most of all, it was friendly and fun.
“It is refreshing to meet athletes from all over Europe too, the Russians and Ukrainians were particularly strong.”
Eades was competing in the women’s 50-55 age category.
She also won silver meadals in two relays on the track, and in high jump.
