A burglary victim turned detective to track down his own property.
Blackburn magistrates heard Shazid Master visited pawn brokers and second hand shops handing out a list of the property stolen from his home together with serial numbers.
And later that day he received a call from Cash Generator on Lord Street to say they had been sold a Playstation console belonging to him for £90.
Umaad Rasul, 18, of Dukes Brow, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods including the Playstation console, four PS3 games, an X-Box console and a laptop computer together worth £1,170 and making a false declaration that the property belonged to him to make a gain of £90 belonging to Cash Generators.
He was given a conditional discharge for two years and ordered to pay £50 compensation to Cash Generators and £450 to Mr Masters.
