THE Holidays are Coming —so sing the young people of Kearsley Academy.

Today readers can listen to the talented pupils at the school spreading Christmas cheer with their rendition of the popular seasonal song for The Bolton News’ festive competition.

The song will be featured in the academy’s Christmas concert on Friday, but readers can hear it first here.

The academy’s music coordinator Michael Hood said: “The year 11 BTEC music students have organised the concert, which involves pupils throughout the year groups, as part of their course and they will be singing ‘The Holidays are Coming’, as used in the Coca-Cola advert.

“The concert and the competition is a chance for them to showtheir musical talent to the community.”

Pupils have been organising the concert since September.

Callum Yates, aged 16, said: “The competition is good because it gives us the opportunity to share our musical passions with the rest of the community.

“At first the concert was quite difficult to organise, but then we got everybody together and it became quite easy.”

Stacie Thompson, aged 15, added: “I think people will be really impressed when they see us performing the song.

“It has been a lot of fun doing this and it is amazing performing on stage in front of an audience.”

A different school is being featured every day, with voting opening next week.

Starting from Monday, you will be able to vote for your favourite school via text or phone
